Three magazines. That is the standard load out shooters carry in environments in which their pistol is their primary weapon. This class emphasizes marksmanship and the importance of remaining mobile while working with a limited amount of ammunition. This course is fast paced and physically demanding. Students should already posses an understanding of pistol marksmanship before attending this class.
At the conclusion of training, students will be able to:
- Identify their personal threshold for speed vs. accuracy
- Perform single hand manipulations and shooting in non-standard firing positions (get off your feet!)
- Employ the proper uses of cover (NOT running back and forth between the hood and trunk of a vehicle)
COURSE PREREQUISITES
THIS IS AN ADVANCED COURSE for shooters that understand marksmanship and firearms safety. Students must send proof of participation in other open enrollment courses. If this is a student's first open enrollment course, he/she will not be allowed to participate.
Required Equipment:
-Pistol w/ holster
-500 rounds of ammunition
-3 x pistol magazines (minimum)
-Magazine pouch or ability to carry three magazines (2 on your body, 1 in the gun)
-Hearing and eye protection
-Lunch & water

-Combat marksmanship
-Speed vs. accuracy
-Reloads
-Proper use of cover
-Multiple target engagements
-Shooting while moving
-Close quarters manipulation
-Work in/around vehicles
*Students that fail the safety qualifiers are refunded their registration fees (minus the 5% EFT fee).
